Tell me more Jo Webber

As a self-confessed digital junkie, I've always enjoyed showing Internet users how to use online resources and how, in turn, I can enable them to have the business skills necessary to grow a conceptual thought into a tangible, profit-driven idea. After spending time in the Yucatán Peninsula and teaching a

local tourist guide how to use social media and operate a smartphone,

I was looking for a project to bring these skills to opportune countries to

reap the rewards from an engaged, online community.

So I decided to visit Keta Secondary School in Ghana to teach kids

(aged between 11-16) on a range of subject including social media, search

engine optimisation (SEO), video blogging and more! Check out the

Kuyu Project's official You Tube channel, official blogposts, tweets

(@thekuyuproject) and Facebook updates.

Mission: The Kuyu Project

The Kuyu Project is a digital literacy initiative aimed at teaching African youth how to fully utilize social media and other digital tools to effect social change in their communities to achieve their goals and objectives.

We deeply believe that by offering an open platform and teaching digital techniques we are fueling the dreams and aspirations of these young minds which might one day lead to the innovations and technologically driven solutions that will change Africa and the world.
